Tomáš Spurný
Chairman of Management Board
Tomáš Spurný holds a bachelor's degree from New York University and an MBA from Columbia Business School. He started his career at McKinsey & Company and has extensive experience from managerial positions in the banking and financial sector. Serving as the CEO or CFO, he worked at major banks in Central and Eastern Europe, including the CIB Bank in Hungary, at PPF Group companies, at Komerční banka, at CCS in the Czech Republic, and also at VÚB a.s., an Intesa Sanpaolo bank in Slovakia. Between 2012 and 2015 he served as the CEO of Romania's biggest bank, BCR. Since October 2015, he has been CEO and Chairman of the Board of MONETA Money Bank, a.s.
Carl Normann Vökt
Vice-Chairman of Management Board
Carl Normann Vökt holds a university degree with a major in Finance and Marketing gained at the Karl-Franzens University in Graz/Austria. His career started back in 1990 in Vienna in the area of Project and Structured Finance of Creditanstalt, followed by a short secondment to the International Finance Corporation in Washington and since 1996 he had been working in Poland. During his more than 15 years stay in Poland, Norman held different senior positions in Corporate Banking and Risk Management. The last position he held there was Chief Risk Officer and Deputy President of the Management Board at Bank BPH in Warsaw. Throughout his career in Poland he also served on the supervisory boards of several group related companies like mortgage bank, leasing firms and fund management businesses. Since November 2012 Carl Norman Vökt has been the Chief Risk Officer at MONETA Money Bank in the Czech Republic and a member of the Board of MONETA Money Bank, a.s., since January 2013.
Jan Friček
Member of Management Board
Jan Friček is a graduate of the University of Economics in Prague, Faculty of Finance and Accounting, he is also a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). Prior to joining MONETA Money Bank, a.s, between years 2004 - 2009, he worked as an auditor with Deloitte. Mr. Friček has been at MONETA Money Bank, a.s. since 2009, during which time he has held a number of senior positions within the Finance division. In particular, he held a position of a Financial Planning & Analysis department Manager and prior to that a position of a Technical Controller. During the years 2016 and 2017 he became a Chief Financial Officer and in the years 2017 - 2019 he served as a Managing Director of MONETA Leasing, in 2018 he was also appointed as Chief Financial Officer of MONETA Auto. Since March 2019, he has been a member of the Supervisory Board of MONETA Leasing and MONETA Auto. In March 2019 he was appointed Chief Financial Officer and a member of the Management Board of MONETA Money Bank, a.s. Since April 2020, Mr. Friček has been a member of the Supervisory Board of Wüstenrot hypoteční banka and MONETA Stavební Spořitelna.
Jan Novotný
Member of Management Board
Jan Novotný has worked in several positions at MONETA Money Bank, a.s., since joining the bank in 2003. He began as a commercial banking analyst and later became the data team leader; he also led product development and ultimately product management. He left in 2007 to gain more experience within the GE Capital Group in Singapore, where he was Product Manager for Small and Medium Enterprises for the South-East Asia Region (Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand and China). He returned to the Czech Republic the following year, working as Head of the Micro and Small Enterprises Segment, and later as the Manager of the entire Small and Medium Enterprises Segment. He was appointed Chief Commercial Banking Officer at MONETA Money Bank, a.s., in May 2013, and a member of the Board of MONETA Money Bank, a.s., since December 2013.
Albert Piet van Veen
Member of Management Board
Albert Piet van Veen studied Management Science and Business Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology, and Logistical and Physical Distribution Systems at Technical University of Crete. During more than twenty years of his professional career he has gained experience in telecoms, banking and insurance from several countries. In ING, where he worked for 8 years, he was as the CIO responsible for separation of ING Insurance and transformation into NN and for the IPO. He came to MONETA Money Bank, a.s., from the position of Chief Digital Officer in Schiphol Group. As the leader of digital transformation, he managed to accelerate digital services and, together with a team of innovators, he explored new technologies to find new business models for the Schiphol airport to become the best digital airport in the world. In the Bank he is again responsible for digital transformation and in charge of the IT Division, Shared Services Centre, and Project Management Office. Since May 2017, he is the new COO, Chief Operating Officer, and member of the Management Board of MONETA Money Bank, a.s.

Digital Transformation
We offer cutting-edge digital services based on a secure mobile and internet banking platform. We were the first bank in the Czech Republic to make it possible to open a current account fully online with the help of a smartphone. We are a pioneer in digitizing payment cards into wearable electronics and were the first bank in the Czech Republic to allow clients to pay with Garmin Pay and Fitbit Pay.
We were the first big bank to launch a contactless card payment on a mobile phone through Google Pay. Our mobile application, Smart Banka, has long been one of the best-rated mobile applications in the Czech Republic and Slovakia and was the first mobile banking application in the Czech Republic with the ability to manage the accounts of other banks. We focus on the development of digital distribution capacities, especially providing credit products fully online to our retail clients and small businesses.
