Tomáš Spurný
Chairman of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer
Tomáš Spurný holds a bachelor's degree from New York University and an MBA from Columbia Business School. He started his career at McKinsey & Company and has extensive experience from executive positions in the banking and financial sector. Serving as CEO or CFO, he worked at major banks and financial companies in Central and Eastern Europe, including the CIB Bank in Hungary, PPF Group, Komerční banka, CCS Czech Republic, and also at VÚB a.s. in Slovakia. Between 2012 and 2015 he served as the CEO of Romania's biggest bank, BCR from Erste Group. Since October 2015, he has been the Chairman of the Management Board and CEO of MONETA Money Bank, a.s. Mr. Spurný is currently also a member of the Supervisory Boards of MONETA Leasing (since November 2015) and MONETA Auto (since May 2016). Since April 2021, he also holds the position of Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the foundation Nadace MONETA Clementia.
Carl Normann Vökt
Vice-Chairman of the Management Board and Chief Risk Oficer
Carl Normann Vökt holds a university degree with a major in Finance and Marketing from Karl-Franzens University in Graz/Austria. His career began in 1990 in the area of Project and Structured Finance in Creditanstalt in Vienna and later in International Finance Corporation in Washington. From 1996 Mr. Vökt worked in Poland where he held a number of different senior positions in Corporate Banking and Risk Management during his 15-year tenure. The last position he held there was Chief Risk Officer and Deputy President of the Management Board at Bank BPH in Warsaw. Throughout his career in Poland, he also served on the supervisory boards of several related companies like mortgage bank, leasing firms and fund management businesses. Since November 2012 he has been Chief Risk Officer at MONETA Money Bank, a.s. In January 2013 he was appointed a member of the Board of Directors of MONETA Money Bank, a.s., and in March 2019 he became its Vice-chairman. Mr. Vökt has also served as a member of the Supervisory Boards of MONETA Leasing (since November 2015) and MONETA Auto (since May 2016). Since April 2020, Mr. Vökt has been the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of MONETA Stavební Spořitelna, a. s. and since April 2021, he also holds the position of the Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the foundation Nadace MONETA Clementia.
Jan Friček
Member of the Management Board and Chief Financial Officer
Jan Friček is a graduate of the University of Economics in Prague, Faculty of Finance and Accounting, he is also a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA). Prior to joining MONETA Money Bank, a.s, between years 2004 and 2009, he worked as an auditor with Deloitte. Mr. Friček has been at MONETA Money Bank, a.s. since 2009, during which time he has held a number of senior positions within the Finance division. In particular, he held a position of a Financial Planning & Analysis department Manager and prior to that a position of a Technical Controller. During the years 2016 and 2017, he became a Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer of MONETA Leasing and in 2018 he was also appointed as Chief Financial Officer of MONETA Auto. In March 2019 he was appointed Member of the Management Board and Chief Financial Officer of MONETA Money Bank, a.s. Since March 2019, he has also served as a Member of the Supervisory Board of MONETA Leasing and MONETA Auto. Since April 2020, Mr. Friček has been a Member of the Supervisory Board and Audit Committee of MONETA Stavební Spořitelna and since April 2021, he has also been a member of the Supervisory Board of the foundation Nadace MONETA Clementia.
Jan Novotný
Member of the Management Board and Chief Commercial Banking Officer
Jan Novotný has been with MONETA Money Bank, a.s. since 2003 and has held several positions during that time. He began as a commercial banking analyst and later became the data team leader; he also led product development and ultimately the whole product management. He left in 2007 to gain more experience within the GE Capital Group in Singapore, where he served as Product Manager for Small and Medium Enterprises for the South-East Asia Region (Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand and China). He returned to the Czech Republic the following year, working as Head of the Micro and Small Enterprises Segment, and later as the Manager of the entire SME segment. In May 2013, he was appointed Chief Commercial Banking Officer and since December 2013 he has been a member of the Management Board of MONETA Money Bank, a.s. Mr. Novotný has also served as a member of the Supervisory Boards of MONETA Leasing (since November 2015) and MONETA Auto (since May 2016). Since April 2020, he also holds the position of the Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of MONETA Stavební Spořitelna.
Klára Starková
Member of the Management Board and Chief Operating Officer
Klára Starková graduated from the Wirtschaftsuniversität Wien and the Rochester Institute of Technology in the USA. She started her career at McKinsey & Company, where she worked for almost 11 years. Between 2007 and 2016, she acted as an Executive Committee Member responsible for IT and operations, as well as Member of the Executive Committee responsible for Poland and Slovakia in Generali CEE and Generali PPF Holding respectively. There she also led strategic HR, legal and internal communication, as well as competence centres. She has broad experience as a Managing Director and lead consultant in Accenture, where she served since 2017 and was responsible for advisory services for major financial institutions in the CEE region. Since June 2021, Mrs. Starková has been a member of the Management Board of MONETA Money Bank, a.s. and the Chief Operating Officer.

Digital Transformation
We offer cutting-edge digital services based on a secure mobile and internet banking platform. We were the first bank in the Czech Republic to make it possible to open a current account fully online with the help of a smartphone. We are a pioneer in digitizing payment cards into wearable electronics and were the first bank in the Czech Republic to allow clients to pay with Garmin Pay and Fitbit Pay.
We were the first big bank to launch a contactless card payment on a mobile phone through Google Pay. Our mobile application, Smart Banka, has long been one of the best-rated mobile applications in the Czech Republic and Slovakia and was the first mobile banking application in the Czech Republic with the ability to manage the accounts of other banks. We focus on the development of digital distribution capacities, especially providing credit products fully online to our retail clients and small businesses.
